Since 1880, the town of Pluma Hidalgo, Municipality of Oaxaca, has been known for its extensive coffee production, especially for Pluma coffee, which is derived from the fruits of the Coffea arabica plant species, mainly from the typical variety and since February 4 of 2020, the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property (“IMPI”) carried out the General Declaration for the Protection of the Denomination of Origin (“Declaration of Origin”) of Pluma Coffee.
